How Qondi's AI Works

We think you should know exactly what you're talking to.

Qondi is an AI, not a person

Qondi's replies, study guides, practice tests, marking and notes about how you learn are written by artificial intelligence: Claude, made by Anthropic. No human writes Qondi's replies. People at Qondi only look at a lesson if you flag an answer, or if we need to investigate misuse or a technical problem.

How it teaches

Qondi has instructions on how good tutors teach:

  • find out what you already know;
  • explain one idea at a time;
  • ask you to try the next step;
  • check that you've understood.

When you pick a course, Qondi also searches your own uploaded notes and uses them, so it teaches your curriculum in your school or lecturer's way.

What it gets wrong

AI is powerful, but it isn't perfect. Qondi can:

  • make calculation or reasoning mistakes;
  • misread a blurry photo or a complicated diagram;
  • mark an answer too strictly or too generously;
  • sound confident when it's wrong.

Always check important answers against your notes, textbook or teacher, especially before a test. If something looks off, tap Flag under that reply. It helps us make Qondi better.

Your data and the AI

  • Your lesson and uploads are sent to our AI provider to create each reply.
  • They are not used to train AI models, by us or by our provider.
  • The notes Qondi keeps about you (for example, "mixes up the sign of p") are study aids. You can see them on your Progress page and clear them in Settings → Your data.

More detail is in our Privacy Policy.

What Qondi won't do

Qondi won't write work for you to hand in as your own where your school doesn't allow it. It won't help with anything harmful. It won't pretend to be a counsellor, doctor or other professional. If you're struggling, please reach out to someone you trust, or call Childline on 116 or SADAG on 0800 567 567.
